Plantz & The Production Packet Take on Canna Fest Prague
When it comes to the cannabis scene, innovation and creativity are often the names of the game. That’s why the collaboration between Plantz and the rising star videography and graphics company, The Production Packet, felt like a perfect match. Led by the incredibly talented and friendly Nelle Hayes, The Production Packet has taken the cannabis industry by storm since the unforgettable release of her first video from Product Earth 2024. This September launch didn’t just turn heads—it left the scene buzzing. So, when Plantz teamed up with Nelle to visit Canna Fest in Prague, we knew it was going to be an unforgettable adventure. Spoiler: it didn’t disappoint.
CBD Nuggets and a Taste of Prague
Prague is a city as iconic for its stunning architecture as it is for its curious cannabis scene. Here’s the twist—most of the “cannabis” available in the head shops and touristy stores across the city isn’t the THC-packed flower most of us know and love. Instead, we found CBD nuggets dusted with an assortment of cannabinoids like Delta 8/9, HHG, and HHC—substances that are technically banned. How these products were operating in plain sight? That’s anyone’s guess!
The experience of consuming these concoctions was… different. The effects leaned heavily on the sativa side, bringing on waves of euphoria and fits of giggles, but the taste was strangely uniform across all the strains we tried. Oddly enough, it felt like cannabis on training wheels—a watered-down version of the real thing. And while Czech CBD laws do allow for up to 1% THC due to the lack of Novel Food regulations, we found the experience left us with sore throats and an even bigger craving for the real deal. Naturally, the next day saw us on a mission to uncover some authentic Prague bud.
Canna Fest: A Playground for Cannabis Enthusiasts
The Canna Fest expo itself was like stepping into a wonderland of weed. Across its sprawling halls, we encountered a blend of familiar faces and fresh talent. Big players like Puffco, Cookies, Atami, and The1010Boys brought their A-game with cutting-edge products and tech. Among the highlights? A new entry-level dry herb vape that caught our attention. (Keep your eyes peeled—Plantz may just be adding it to our shop soon!)
But Canna Fest wasn’t just about the big names. It was about making connections. Nelle, Neil, and I had an absolute blast networking with brands, meeting new people, and brainstorming ideas for the future. We even managed to sneak in an interview with some of the legends behind the genetics at Barney’s Farm, Seedstockers, and Paradise Seeds. Talk about star power!
And here’s something unexpected: Canna Fest was also incredibly family-friendly. With a dedicated children’s play area, families could explore the expo while their kids had their own mini adventure. Oh, and did I mention the bouncy castle? Of course we had to have a bounce!
The Road Ahead: Reflections on Prague and the Cannabis Scene
Prague left a lasting impression—not just for its beauty, but for the questions it raised about the cannabis industry. Will the city’s offerings still be packed with lab-created cannabinoids next year? Or will legislation take over, leading to a more authentic, regulated market?
One thing is certain: the future of the cannabis scene here is evolving, and Plantz is excited to be a part of the journey. With creative minds like Nelle Hayes and The Production Packet in the mix, the possibilities feel endless.
