This includes CBD products, mushrooms and shalajit. The exception is ‘Glass’, which while admittedly beautiful, tends to crack teeth if you try to eat it 😉
We asked them if they’d introduce themselves to our community and we’re happy they said Yes!
What is Nature’s Alix and what made you start the company?
Nature’s Alix was created off the back of the founder being Neurodiverse, diagnosed as an adult. This meant medication and I have never been a fan of anything pharmaceutical ever. I was convinced there would be a natural way to self-medicate and manage the symptoms of adult combined ADHD. So I set out trialling and researching products. I had always used THC as a young person to manage my symptoms but wanted something legal and more socially acceptable. I found CBD and Lions Mane and then became their biggest walking marketing campaign by pure chance. I was promoting them to everyone, as they had literally changed my life.
I became quite passionate about plant medicine as I’d always been passionate about natural remedies over pharma’s. So I completed a diploma in Plant Medicine and natural herbology.
A few months into my new found plant medicine journey my sister approached me to say she was having problems with anxiety and depression so we started to look into other cannabinoids and mushroom supplements. We quickly found natural alternatives to antidepressants and NSAIDS and Beta blockers.
It was a game changer! Why? Because we were finding things on the planet to help and aid what we had always been told we needed medicine for!
And then my mum approached me, having started menopause, she was struggling getting on with HRT so again we hit the books and google to find supplements and natural alternatives. What do you know? We found them!!
And then the penny dropped. Start a business you’re passionate about that helps people move away from pharmaceutical drugs. A business that could naturally aid pain, the recovery from so many illnesses and ailments and help those in addiction see the light.. And Nature’s Alix was born.
You mentioned you had a diploma in plants, can you tell us about that more?
A diploma in Plant Medicine and Natural Herbology. The diploma is accredited by Edinburgh Napier University.
Where do you see the future of plant medicine going?
I think this is an industry growing for everyone now. Before it was always seen as an alternative or “hippie” way of medicating whereas it has grown into mainstream society. The world is realising, especially after things like the pandemic, that people are looking for the natural alternative as opposed to chemicals + man made medicines with side effects. Plant medicine has little to no side effects which makes taking it so much easier and better for you.
Have you noticed any trends in the space and if so, what are they?
Yes, I’d say CBD was trending a few years ago and has quickly moved recently into the CBG craze. More cannabinoids are coming into the market too, not just derivatives of cannabis. And mushroom supplements seem to be the new buzz topic of 2024.
What are your top selling products?
Lions Mane and our multi mushroom mix. The combined CBD oil and mushroom mix together in capsules and our CBD moisturiser and bath bombs would be our most popular beauty products too.
What are the biggest challenges you have faced with Nature’s Alix?
Marketing (as any business will say haha) but also busting through the myths of plant medicine and educating people on CBD and other cannabinoids. They can still hold the cannabis stigma sometimes so it’s all about education and how it is presented.
Do you have any plans for your own product launch?
Yes, we have big big plans for this. We’re currently creating some of our very own CBD. CBG and CBC products. We’re also about to launch some combined mushroom and CBD supplements of our own and be one of the first plant medicine companies to have our very own Chronic Pain, Anxiety, ADHD, BPD, Endometriosis, Arthritis & Skin health bundles with specific products for specific ailments.
